My Day in Pictures

I started my Deceptively Delicious prep work today. Um, yes our crockpot is being held up by shims. They've come in quite handy at this house. It has yummy turkey chili cooking in it, but I couldn't even eat it after smelling it all day.
After roasting the squash and sweet potatoes, chopping broccoli and cauliflower, and then steaming them all, I actually thought it wasn't that bad.
I continue to try to keep a hot fire going all day and have succeeded in not using the furnace while I am home. I thought it was going to be a pain, but I must have some sort of testosterone fire thing. I love to make the fire big and hot. And I love having the wood smell in the house.note: some of these pictures are blurry...I read on another blog about how this photographer doesn't ever use her flash---ever. If it's too dark then she doesn't take the picture. I tried...it didn't work out so well for me.
'Nuf said.

That's me being happy about my day. Nothing special, but I feel good about it. (Oprah in the background.) hmm...not so happy about the picture, but hey, I'm keeping it real.
She wakes up like me when I am excited to start my day. Note the bare feet. Apparently, if there are no footies on the pj's, then the socks must come off!
He wakes up like me on most days. Kaela felt that since she was up, he should be, too! Cameron didn't agree.
While I finished up my pureeing, the kids kept themselves busy playing under the dining room table. They don't usually play together (well) so it was good to see--so much so that I wanted to crawl under there with them! But back to the kitchen I went...
The prep work made it a long day. I'm glad it's done, and there's a lot of it so I won't have to do all of that for a while, but the truth will be in the food. We'll see if Cameron goes for it! Kaela usually eats anything anyway.
