cure for daycare?

Monday, November 5, 2007

Anyone got one? I need it badly and will pay top dollar. If you are going "huh?" right now because you missed the title--I'm talking about a cure for daycare. Specifically, I'm speaking of the never ending, non-stop runny nose, cough, and fever. I can't believe how many days I've had to take off because of one of the kids being sick. AND I ONLY WORK PART TIME!

If I had written this a month ago, I would be asking for a cure for the good-bye cries and my breaking heart. Time seems to have healed that dilemma and the kids are much better about being dropped off and left to someone else to love them and cuddle them all day long. Obviously I haven't healed as quickly as they have.

And to top it all off, they are not even in a daycare that I want them to be in. I am comfortable with this place because Cameron went there for a few months before Kaela was born, but it's in our old neighborhood and is really out of the way--to the point that I am passing by the town I work in to drop the kids off at daycare and then back tracking. We are on a waiting list for one that is on the way to work for both Kyle and I and I have heard great things about them. There are a few licensed family day cares in the area (also with waiting lists) but they also provide transportation to and from the Universal Pre-K that's here. I am stuck trying to predict the future and where I want the kids to be and what will be easiest on us so that we aren't having to pick the kids up from 2 different places. In addition to trying to avoid switching daycares every year. If only my crystal ball was working, I'd be in great shape.
