Talk about blog love

I have a serious love affair with Target. So much so that I contemplated my recent move based on how far Target was from my new house and how easily I could get there on a weekly basis. Since I work in the same town as a Target (my second favorite branch) I figured I would be ok.

It gets worse, after months of no babysitters or dates, last year my husband and I went out on a date to...Target. Three months later for his birthday we decided to go to the movies, but stopped at Target first. It is so sacred that the thought of being at the store with no kids--deserves it's own date night!

When I worked full time, no babies, no budget, no thought as to the money I was spending...I post-calculated roughly $500 a month spent at Target alone. I have no idea what I bought, but I can tell you that I got a good deal on it all. I have since had to cut back (way back) but I will confess that I spent something close to that amount on Dec 26th. I can't handle a good deal. I have to buy them all. I can smell those bright red sexy clearance stickers two isles away. They call my name over and over until I answer, "I don't think I really need you, but you are such a good deal that some day I'm sure I will find a use for you" The sale items mixed with the frenzy/fight of other Boxing Day shoppers drove me into sheer shopping delusion. The delusion that calling for backup because my cart was full and I needed someone else to join me with another cart, was quickly shattered when I arrived home. My husband, the sweet, loving, understanding, tolerant man that he is, WENT DIGGING FOR THE RECEIPT when I (thought I) dodged the "total" question. It took him a full day of pursed lips and grumbles to get over that one. Then he went on ashopping spree of his own--how could I say no? Here's the catch--I had second thoughts about some of the frenzy purchases and did return a good number of items. Thankfully, Target has a wonderful return policy! However, we went back together and yesterday the Christmas items were 75% off!!! Screw the Boxing Day sales, I got lights for $1.25!! And boy did I get lights. Did I mention that we have a new home? I have to decorate it appropriately for the season and we needed more lights. I bought them out of all of those $1.25 ones. I moved on to the more expensive ($2.50) ones but had my kiddo with me in the cart and couldn't fill it all the way. Luckily, other purchases were stashed in hubby's cart!! Those were some good deals...

So imagine my giddiness when I stumbled across this today: Slave to Target

Hello blogfriend, I think I love you. But, what am I so afraid of? A love there is no cure for.
