We finally made the move! We have been talking about moving to a big boy bed, but not doing much about it, until last night. Kyle took down the one side of the crib and added the little board that makes it into a toddler bed and Cameron was instantly a big boy! We also put up a gate at his doorway because I am scared that he will wander out and go down the stairs. I can't imagine that he would be brave enough to go down the stairs without us, but you know how those bad thoughts creep into your mind when you are a mom. The whole thing turned out to be a non-ordeal. We read a little Elmo book about sleeping in a big boy bed (which sparked the sudden movement last night) and then he went up and crawled in and was fine. He wanted me to read him a book (that's what happened with Elmo) so I did and the only thing he was upset about was not getting another book read to him. I checked on him when I went to bed and he had moved a bit, but then moved back up to the top of the bed when I walked in. Kyle said this morning that he heard Cameron talking, but when he went in he was still lying in his bed! I'm sure it's because he is my first born that I feel like this makes him grown up, but to him it's no big deal at all. I'll post a picture of the whole scenario soon. When we move he's really going to be in a big boy bed--no toddler bed!
